This class consists of elements of Acroyoga, basic standing acrobatics and counter balances (in Duos & Trios). As we are teaching in a 2-woman team we will also be encouraging same-size basing and ladybasing.
Acroyoga is a lot easier than it looks… really, it is! We will focus on body integration, exploration of movements and offer individualised teaching. In a vibe that creates a friendly and integrativ Acroyoga class.
The warm up involves conditioning of specific muscle group with a focus on the ones we will need for Acroyoga. Maybe ones you haven't used before… Our teaching will be progressive, which means that we will upskill every week to a litte more challenging flow or figure.
So please do come every other week and improve together at the same pace with the group!
No prerequisites are required to join the OpenAir — no former gymnastics, acrobatics or yoga experience is required. Just come along and have a go.
Come alone or with a friend… or with many friends ;)

Who is teaching?
Sara is an inversion and hand balancing teacher and runs regular classes for yogis, acrobats, dancers and other movers in Berlin (check Inverted World Berlin). She is a partner-acrobatics teacher, too — which means that she usually focuses a little more on standing acrobatics.
The past 5 years Marie has been teaching the Acroyoga class for the Sunday Jam Berlin at Glogauer Str. An active yogi herself she knows her way around plenty of washing basing and has all the good hints for you for your perfect Acroyoga flow.
A more detailed description...:
Acro is a practice that combines acrobatics and yoga in a playful way. It trains strength, flexibility and body awareness for your own and other peoples' bodies. Any person without any prior experience in yoga / acrobatics / gymnastics can start and enjoy this playful practice.
If you're not sure how it looks check this link (this is an advanced flow): https://facebook.com/pitayayoga/videos/366139477214596/
In every class we introduce an element of conditioning, basic flexibility, inversions (being upside down) and 'flying', 'basing' and 'spotting'. You will become familiar with the different tasks and with two female teachers you can be sure to be encouraged to ladybase or same-size base.
